Pierce is forced into the uncomfortable situation of interacting on a personal level with more than one of his students, which forces him to confront difficult truths about his own past. The case comes just as Moretti is beginning to re-evaluate her relationship with Dr. Hathaway (guest star Jamie Bamber).

Meanwhile, Walt’s brother-in-law Hank Schrader (Dean Norris) is closing the circle around “Heisenberg.” Walter White’s saga will end next summer.

Meanwhile, Chris’ (Travis Milne) family obligations have him contemplating a transfer, and Traci (Enuka Okama) and Gail (Charlotte Sullivan) each face monumental decisions regarding their respective careers.

Nick Carleton (Tom Cavanagh) is a widowed father of three who is coping with the loss of his beloved wife, who was murdered. His eldest child, Alex (Tess Atkins), takes on the role of mother for her two younger siblings and lends a hand to her dad. With no leads and the case growing cold, the police have no choice but to close their investigation. Not ready to give up, police detective Joseph Moran (Boris Kodjoe) takes an unorthodox approach to try to find the killer by enlisting Alex’s assistance, which may put her in harm’s way. Reluctant to help at first, Alex begins to search for clues and anything out of the ordinary that could help solve her mother’s murder. But what she slowly begins to unearth is something more shocking than anything she could have ever imagined.
