Comedy Tonight

Three CBS comedies return with their first new episodes since the writers’ strike. First up: “The Big Bang Theory.” Penny (Kaley Cuoco) tries to convince Sheldon (Jim Parsons) to attend a physics conference with Leonard (Johnny Galecki). Next up on the laugh track: “How I Met Your Mother,” in which Ted (Josh Radnor) takes a page from Barney’s (Neil Patrick Harris) and lives like every day is his last. And then he gets a post-St. Patrick’s Day reality check. Finally, Charlie Sheen and company return on “Two and a Half Men.” In this episode, Charlie teaches his TV brother, Alan (Jon Cryer), how to break up with a woman.
