Your weekly guide to TV’s best and worst one-hour shows
The end is nigh in TV land:
“Pretty Little Liars” (Monday, 8 p.m., ABC Family)
They promised us at the beginning of the year that they’d finally reveal who “A” is. It took 12 weeks, but they’re finally coming through in the second season finale. Of course, just because we’re finding out who “A” is at the masquerade ball doesn’t mean our long-suffering “Liars” will be so lucky.
“The Walking Dead” (Sunday, 9 p.m., AMC)
Rick (Andrew Lincoln) has some ’splainin to do about his decision to stab Shane (Jon Bernthal), but don’t expect a lot of time for heart-to-hearts as the zombies close in on our now 13 survivors. Last week’s revelation that the dead don’t have to become bitten to become zombies means we can all look forward to a hopeless finale filled with enough terror to haunt Mama’s nightmares until next season.
“Southland” (Tuesday, 10 p.m., TNT)
Before she heads off to play Watson, Lucy Liu closes out her season as Jessica Tang in what might have been the best yet season of this gritty LA drama. Not only did we get to see another, slightly softer side of Cooper (Michael Cuditz) as he relinquished the role of Ben’s (Ben McKenzie) mentor to become Tang’s partner, we also witnessed Ben spread his wings (and sometimes crash and burn) sans Cooper’s tutelage. And as has become standard protocol for this underappreciated drama, no word yet if it’s coming back.
“In Plain Sight” (Friday, 10 p.m., USA)
In its fifth — yeah, Mama was shocked, too — and final season, US Marshal Mary Shannon (Mary McCormack) must make the choice between her profession and motherhood, as she considers giving up her baby for adoption. Um, not to go all spoilery on you, but Mama considers that option unlikely.
Feeling lucky? Instead of guzzling green beer Saturday night — or perhaps in addition to — you can choose between Hallmark Channel’s “Chasing Leprechauns” (8 p.m.) starring Adrian Pasdar (“Heroes”) who’s searching for pixies, and Syfy’s “Leprechaun’s Revenge” (9 p.m.) starring Billy Zane (“Titanic”) and William Devane (“24”), who’re hunting down a murderous leprechaun. All three actors should try their luck and look for new agents.
