WANNA have a lot of sex this fall?
Avoid blue tights and opt for a pretty dress.
That’s the consensus of a poll conducted last week by The Post, in which we presented 26 men with the three iconic looks for autumn 2003: “Biker,” represented by a sleek biker outfit by Byblos; “Romantic,” a sweet peach satin frock by Collette Dinnigan; and “Mod,” a brilliantly hued mini dress by Marc Jacobs.
The majority of our interviewees – about 63 percent – said they’d be more likely to get down and dirty with a lady wearing the Dinnigan dress.
And about half that number confessed that Byblos’ biker babe got their motors running (32 percent).
But only 5 percent of our guys wanted to get jiggy with Jacobs’ ultra-hip girl.
Want more juicy details? Below, our interviewees’ pro and con arguments on the carnal merits of each outfit.
MOD
Pro:
Steven Stowers, 33, real estate agent from Teaneck, N.J.
“The mod look is the sexiest. I’d like to see my lady in it. I like the way it cuts off right here on the thigh and I like the colors – it’s a good contrast for women of color. And the short skirt makes you focus on her legs.”
Con:
Danny Djokovic, 19, student from Brooklyn
“Marc Jacobs made this? Are you serious? Marc, you’re killing me over here! I don’t think I’d let my girlfriend out like this. Blue legs?! Who the hell’s into seeing blue legs? I gotta talk to this Marc.”
ROMANTIC
Pro:
Brenton Harris, 22, grad student from Waltham, Mass.
“I like the romantic look because it’s just kind of easy-going – she looks like the girl next door. She seems like the best girl for me to take home to Mom and Dad.”
Con:
Bobby O’Neill, 45, real estate developer from Manhattan
“The romantic look is elegant, but it isn’t sexy. I like clothes that are more simplistic: simple is sexy. This is beautiful, but it’s trying too hard.”
BIKER
Pro:
James Dornas, 30, Internet marketer from Staten Island
“This is sexy because it gives the woman’s figure a mysterious look. It’s also practical: it has pockets and a side bag and stuff. The other outfits look like you couldn’t carry anything with them.”
Con:
Joe Price, 27, attorney from Brooklyn
“I’m a little more conservative. I think I would be intimidated by a woman wearing this.”
