FILM critic Roger Ebert is saying goodbye to his syndicated TV show – but will continue to write his influential column.

Ebert was hoping to eventually return to “At the Mov ies with Ebert & Roeper,” but is still unable to speak after under going several can cer surgeries, in cluding an operation in January. (He’s had his right lower jaw removed.)

He’s been off “At the Movies” since August 2006, with guest hosts filling in.

But Ebert, writing in yesterday’s Chicago Sun-Times said the surgery hasn’t affected his other abilities “including the love of viewing movies and writing about them.”

Ebert says he’s now cancer-free.
