ELECTRIC SLIDES
GRAB your Ray-Bans and rompers — it’s time for the second annual Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival. For 12 hours, kicking off today at 4 p.m., the keytars and deejays will be pumping the Old American Can Factory from two stages, indoors and out.
According to Brad Dickason, one of the show’s producers, the fest is all about igniting the city’s passion for emerging and established dance music. In order to sway newcomers, the festival boasts a hefty lineup of more than 30 deejays and performers, including Young Love, Adventure, Shy Child and Home Video. With a few exceptions, all the performers are New York natives, including The Juan Maclean, the show’s headliners.
And there’s one last teaser. Production group Famous Friends says you can follow it on Twitter (@famousfriends) to get the scoop on a surprise headliner, which won’t be released electronically (get it?) until today at 5 p.m. There’s also free booze. From opening until 6 p.m., cold PBR is free — you’ll be saving like a whole four bucks!
Today from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.; Old American Can Factory, 232 Third St., Brooklyn; tickets are $25 and can be purchased at BrooklynEMF.com.
