Emmys lure fewer eyes for FoxSUNDAY’S Emmys averaged nearly 18 million viewers – down more than 2 million viewers from the year before.

The awards show averaged 17.7 million viewers on Fox from 8 to 11:15 p.m., helping the network win the night in total viewers and in all major demos across the board.

By comparison, the 2002 Emmys averaged 20 million viewers on NBC, according to Nielsen.

Sunday’s awards show was highlighted by the inclusion of multiple hosts and a special tribute to the late John Ritter, who died Sept. 11 at the age of 54.

James Gandolfini (“The Sopranos“), Tyne Daly (“Judging Amy“), Doris Roberts (“Everybody Loves Raymond“), Brad Garrett (“Raymond”) and Tony Shalhoub (“Monk“) were among those snaring major awards.
