EVA the Diva’s claws came out last night on “America’s Next Top Model.”

The feisty 19-year-old from Los Angeles, who’s managed to irritate many of the of the super-model wannabes on the latest season of the Tyra Banks reality show, was sucked into a fight on last night’s episode by one her rivals and was even accused of being a thief.

Eva has already made waves early during the season when she got into an argument with Banks herself.

On last night’s show, she made fun of cranky North Carolinian Amanda during a runway competition and earned the 25-year-old’s wrath. Amanda nearly came to blows with Eva during a later encounter and when the Diva left the apartment to collect a prize, Amanda thought that the Diva stole her prized jewelry.

Instead of confronting her, Amanda set a trap for Eva, leaving money out as bait to catch the alleged thief in the act. But when Eva didn’t take the cash, Amanda remembered that she had actually hidden the jewlery a few days earlier and forgotten about it.

Such is life in the company of rabid wannabe models.

“Eva totally gets on your nerves,” says Kristi, the sweet NYU student from St. Louis who got the boot from last night’s show. “She talks about things that can seem inappropriate and judgmental, but she also has a lot of great qualities.”

Kristi, 20, says she liked Eva despite the Diva’s tendency to rub people the wrong way. She says that behavior is a defense mechanism and probably just Eva’s way to cover up her insecurities.

“Everyone has a history and until you know it, you really can’t understand them totally. She was really good at faking when she was insecure and people just thought she was always being cocky, but she was really just as scared as everyone else,” Kristi says.

“She’s really funny and caring,” Kristi says, even though her first impression of Eva was that she was rude.

“She’ll take care of you when you’re upset and tries to help you out if she sees that you need it.”
