Coasting on the wild success (really?) of the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movie, Warner Bros. is planning a new CG-animals-in-live-settings movie based on old-time cartoon duo Tom and Jerry. The question, said EW’s Pop Watch, is “whether Tom and Jerry have enough staying power to match that post-millennial ‘movie plus merch’ madness.”
