FILM PICK
A supposedly perfect murder goes bad in “Elevator to the Gallows” (1957), starring the one and only Jeanne Moreau (above). A restored print of the thriller, which features a musical score by Miles Davis, tonight opens a nearly complete retrospective tribute to director Louis Malle at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater. In addition, “Elevator” today begins a theatrical run at the Sunshine Cinemas on Houston Street. For details on the Malle tribute, visit filmlinc.com.
