FILM PICK
Lulu’s back in town, and the Film Forum has her.
Louise Brooks was a Hollywood actress who didn’t get along with the studio system. In the late 1920s, she went to Germany, where she appeared in two movies (her finest work) for director G.W. Pabst. One of them, “Pandora’s Box” (1928), in which she plays the tragic Lulu, is getting a twoweek revival starting today at the Forum (Houston Street, west of Sixth Avenue). Many performances of the silent flick will have live piano accompaniment by Steve Sterner.
