LET’S hope her stage chops are still in shape.

After a 46-year hiatus, Jane Fonda is returning to Broadway in the spring. The Oscar-winning actress will star in “33 Variations,” a new play written and directed by Moises Kaufman (“The Laramie Project,” “Gross Indecency”).

Fonda will play a musicologist who travels to the Beethoven archives in Germany to unravel the mystery surrounding the composer’s enigmatic “Diabelli Variations,” only to discover she has a fatal illness.

Fonda last appeared on Broadway in a 1963 revival of Eugene O’Neill’s “Strange Interlude.”
