CHARLIE Gibson has put ABC back in second place in his first week as anchor.

Three weeks before Gibson took over “World News Tonight,” CBS’ Bob Schieffer had unseated ABC from the No. 2 slot for the first time since before 9/11.

But last week, Gibson averaged 7.3 million viewers. (Those numbers exclude both Monday’s Memorial Day and last Friday, when Terry Moran subbed for Gibson.)

CBS was back in third with 6.8 million viewers and NBC, as usual, won with 8 million viewers.
