“Good Morning America” is back on top in the morning news race.

“GMA” averaged 4.6 million viewers last week, beating “Today” (4.4 million viewers) for the first time in a post-Olympic week since the 1992 games in Barcelona.

“Today,” though, held on for a victory in the “money” demo of adults 25-54, averaging 1.8 million viewers to 1.7 million viewers for “GMA.”

“GMA” anchor Robin Roberts and weatherman Sam Champion were off all last week, while co-anchor George Stephanopoulos was off Thursday and Friday. Amy Robach, Dan Harris and Ginger Zee filled in for the vacationing “GMA” talent.

Over on “Today,” Matt Lauer was off last Friday, while Savannah Guthrie co-anchored all week.

“GMA’s” morning winning streak was cut short for two weeks while NBC aired the Summer Olympics in London.
