POST-holiday album sales took a dive last week, and, on the charts, last year’s releases dominated the Billboard’s Top 200.

Green Day‘s “American Idiot” returned to the No. 1 slot, selling just over 100,000 copies, according to sales tracker Nielsen/SoundScan.

In a tight race, the pop punksters pushed another 2004 oldie but goodie – Eminem‘s “Encore” – to the No. 2 position.

Rounding out the top five are: Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz‘s Crunk Juice” (No. 3); “Get Lifted” from Kanye West protégé John Legend (No. 4); and Ludacris‘ “Red Light District” (No. 5).

Album sales were down 33 percent from the previous week to 10.6 million units.
