MOVE over Thomas Edison – the inventor George Foreman is joining Simon Cowell’s “American Inventor” as a judge.

The former heavyweight champion is better known these days for his “lean, mean, grilling machine.” Now he will be part of the summer show’s second season overhaul, reports Variety.

“He’s the obvious choice for this show,” said executive producer Clay Newbill. “We were lucky to get him this year – obviously with the grill and his success there, but also because he’s an everyman and very likable.”

Former talk show host Pat Croce and inventor Sara Blakely have been added to “Inventor” as judges joining the lone hold-over from last year, U.K. mogul Peter Jones.

“Inventor,” executive produced by “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, returns on ABC in June.
