WHEN PAUL JACKS, A MANAGER FOR A FANCY FRENCH RESTAURANT IN HARFING TOWNSHIP, N.J., MOVED IN WITH HIS GIRLSFRIEND IN 1997 THEY THREW A “COMMITMENT” PARTY TO LET FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW THEY WERE SERIOUS ABOUT EACH OTHER- AND SERIOUS ABOUT NOT GETTING HITCHED.
