As cameos go, it’s hard to beat physicist Stephen Hawking.

And the world-famous scientist filmed a scene last Friday for the “The Big Bang Theory,” according to reports.

The sitcom — starring Jim Parsons as Dr. Sheldon Cooper, a brilliant but socially deluded theoretical physicist — has been trying to get Hawking, perhaps the world’s best-known living scientist, on the show for several years, TV Guide says.

But Hawking, who has ALS (better known as Lou Gerhig’s disease), was never able to appear until now because of his health.

Hawking will naturally be playing himself.

The cameo will be part of an episode airing April 5, the reports said.
