Home Box Office (HBO) announced Tuesday that it has renewed Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” for an eighth season.

Larry David, the creator of “Seinfeld” and star of “Curb” will begin filming this summer in Los Angeles and New York and the new season will debut in 2011.

“After much soul searching – and by the way, it was nowhere to be found – I have decided to do another season of CURB,” David said in an HBO press release announcing the news.

“I look forward to the end of shooting, when I can once again resume the hunt for my elusive soul. I know it’s here somewhere or perhaps in the rugged mountainous regions of Pakistan.”

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” has run 70 episodes to date and is, according to the release, HBO’s “longest-running scripted comedy or drama series.”
