R.I.P.: Inventor of rock ‘n’ roll Sam Phillips died Wednesday at 80. He once told The Post, before the current rock revival, that he wished today’s music were a little more intimate. “Some records are so raucous,” he said. “There’s nothing I haven’t heard.” Added Phillips, who is credited with discovering Elvis: “There’s nothing prettier than the human voice.”

Bloggers on other planets: Supergrass’ two sold-out nights at Irving Plaza last week brought out a throng of avid fans who yelled along to every single song. One Craig’s List user (newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/mis/14235426.html), however, reached his limit and posted a good long rant to the “F – er[s] at the Supergrass concert” about an annoying couple making out in the balcony.

Bum rush the show: After the Eels’ fourth encore on Thursday at Irving Plaza, the house lights came up – but as fans filtered out, the band was back, kicking ZZ Top’s “The Grange.” Then they covered the hip-hop classic “White Lines” while the drummer break-danced; fans tripped over themselves to get back in. No injuries were reported.

Man without pants: Sean Eden, guitarist for Luna, performed an entire set in his underwear at Maxwell’s last weekend to win a $100 bet from his bandmates. If you’re shopping for him, he wears boxers, not briefs. And he kept his sneakers on.
