HILLARY gets ratings.

Hillary Clinton‘s rip-roaring speech Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Denver gave all three of the networks covering the event a boost.

Overall, more than 20 million viewers tuned in to see Clinton’s highly-anticipated speech – nearly 3 million more than Monday’s coverage.

NBC posted the best ratings of the night, drawing 5.9 million. ABC placed second with 4.1 million, while CBS turned up third with 3.8 million, according to early Nielsen estimates.

It is hard to compare Tuesday night’s ratings with those from the same night four years ago, because all three major networks chose not to offer primetime coverage of the DNC.

That night featured a speech from Teresa Heinz Kerry, the wife of 2004’s Democratic nominee, John Kerry – and a keynote address from the then lesser-known Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama.
