The crossover country star’s new album, “Cry,” stole the charts’ crown from the King, selling 472,250 copies its first week out, according to SoundScan.
LL Cool J was a distant second, selling over 150,000 copies of his brand new disc, “10.”
“Elv1s: 30 #1 Hits,” which held the No. 1 spot for the past three weeks, fell to No. 3, while The Rolling Stones’ “40 Licks” tumbled a notch to No. 4.
Gerald Levert’s “G Spot” (No. 9) and Dave Hollister’s “Thing in the Game Done Change” (No. 10) were the only others debuting in the top 10.
