HIGH drama is unfolding before the second season of MTV’s smash reality show, “The Hills,” even begins filming.

The show, which revolves around privileged 19-year-old Lauren Conrad, appears to have missed a violent breakup with boyfriend Jason last weekend, as producers have yet to start shooting the new season.

“He went psycho,” an insider told The Post.

Building staff at the apartment complex where Conrad lives have been informed that she and roommate Heidi are moving out, according to sources close to the production.

Already the locks on her apartment have been changed, and the building’s staff is under strict orders to physically remove Jason if he tries to get in.

In last week’s finale – filmed a month ago – Conrad had to choose between taking a coveted internship at a fashion magazine in Paris or moving in with her boyfriend in Malibu.

She chose to stay with Jason, shocking fans.

MTV officials declined to comment yesterday.

“The Hills” is the spin-off of MTV’s other popular reality show, “Laguna Beach,” which begins its third season on Aug. 16.
