HITTING HER HIGH NOTES
Critically acclaimed Hei-Kyung Hong, a beloved Korean soprano, performs at Carnegie Hall tonight at 8 p.m., acccompanied by Brian Zeger on piano.
Fresh off a very successful reprisal of her role as Zerlina in this year’s Metropolitan Opera House production of “Don Giovanni” and a stint as Violetta Valery in The Washington Opera’s “La Traviata,” Hong returns to her hometown of New York to perform a selection of works by opera greats like Handel, Schumann and Strauss.
Tonight’s recital will include Handel’s “Piangero la Sorte Mia,” Bizet’s “Ouvre ton Coeur” and Dong-Jin Kim’s “New Arirang.”
$20. 8 p.m. tonight at Carnegie Hall, 154 W. 57th St., at Seventh Avenue; (212) 247-7800.
