“AMERICAN Idol” is ramping up auditions for Season 9 — but not in New York.

Auditions for the upcoming season, airing early next year, will open July 12-14 in Boston’s Gillette Stadium, according to americanidol.com That’s a lot earlier than last year, when auditions started mid-July.

Unlike last summer, when auditions were held in the Meadowlands, there won’t be New York presence this season for “Idol” wannabes trying to impress the judges.

The Boston tryouts will be followed by Atlanta (June 16-18, Georgia Dome); LA (June 28-30, Rose Bowl); Orlando (July 7-9, Amway Arena); and Denver (July 12-14, Invesco Field).

There will also be auditions held in Chicago and Dallas, but dates and venues aren’t available yet.

Fox is expected to release its official “Idol” announcement today or tomorrow.
