‘AMERICAN Idol” hopeful Antoria Gillon felt the words to her audition song – literally.

Gillon, 20, went into labor while crooning 702’s “Get It Together” in front of “Idol” producers Monday in Dallas’ Texas Stadium.

“The beginning of the song says, ‘You don’t know the pain that I feel,’ and I had no idea that I’d really be feeling that pain,” Gillon told The Post yesterday.

“They say to ‘Sing like you’re feeling it’ – and I really was feeling it.”

Gillon’s contractons began as she launched into her 30-second audition. “It shocked me at the time. I was only thinking, ‘Why, God?’ The baby was supposed to be due [yesterday], and I had no problems all that day.

“Then, as soon as I get in front of the judges, he wants to come out.

“Everybody was bum-rushing me [when the contractions began], and I was getting irritated. I just wanted to sing my song.”

Gillon was whisked away by on-site paramedics and transported to the hospital. She delivered her son early Tuesday morning.

His name? Jamil Lebarron Idol McCowan.

“He already had a name but I thought [adding the ‘Idol’] would be more appropriate, not for fame but for him to have something to talk about,” said Gillon.

“It’s like, ‘Your mom was trying to make a dream come true, and you’re trying to come out.’ ”

And, yes, Gillon was sent on to the next round of auditions next month.

“They told me as they were putting me in the ambulance,” she said.
