BRIT BANDS:“The Beat Goes On” has found a new home, at least for one night. The popular music series was a mainstay at the Bottom Line before the club was shut down and gutted New York University. The beat is back with “The Best of the British Invasion From The Beatles to the Zombies,” a free evening show tonight at 6 at the South Street Seaport, part of the River to River Festival. Dozens of local scenesters including Phoebe Snow, James Chance, Ivan Julian and Jenni Muldaur will cover ’60s tunes by the Rolling Stones, the Dave Clark 5, the Kinks and more.
