She’s giving her deposition.
On the red carpet for the 2026 Golden Globes, which aired on CBS on Sunday, Jan. 11, “Matlock” star Skye P. Marshall told The Post the best piece of advice she got from her co-star, Kathy Bates.
“She and I were both nominated for a Critics Choice Award,” Marshall, 44, told The Post.
Neither Marshall nor Bates won the award, as Rhea Seehorn, 53, beat Bates, 77, at both the Critics Choice and the Golden Globes. Meanwhile, “The Pitt” actress Katherine LaNasa beat Marshall at the Critics Choice Awards on Jan. 4.
The “Matlock” stars had a ball, regardless, Marshall said.

Marshall being interviews by The Post at the 2026 Golden Globes. NY Post“While we were sitting at the table [at the Critics Choice Awards], I asked if I can have a slumber party at her house…..No makeup, no wigs, no gowns. I just want to sit back on your couch.”
Marshall said that she and Bates “did that” and ordered “delivery food” while wearing “our pajamas.”
The actress noted, “We were sitting on the couch, and I was getting as many pearls of wisdom and gems from a legend that I will cherish forever.”
Marshall said that the best advice Bates gave her was something that the “Misery” actress heard from Clint Eastwood. She was in the 2019 film “Richard Jewell,” which Eastwood directed.

She added, “The word ‘old’ to me is an energetic thing. I can show up to work and be tired, and that’s feeling old. It’s not always connected to your biological age. And so, even when I feel exhausted or worn down – because it does take a lot to live out your dreams! – I have to say, ‘don’t let the old man in.’”
Marshall noted that in order to be an actress, “your inner child has to lead this journey. That level of curiosity, that level of creativity and imagination. That’s what allows us to cry on cue. That’s what allows Kathy Bates to do a long walk and talk with pages of dialog. We don’t let the old man in.”

The show was hit by a scandal earlier in the fall, as co-star David Del Rio was fired amid sexual assault allegations in October.
Marshall told The Post that Season 2 will have twists and turns, and surprising guest stars.
“Our recurring guest stars are incredible,” she said, noting that they have “energy” that will “either trigger or delight” Olympia and Matty.

“Matlock” is currently in its mid-season hiatus, and returns Feb. 26 at 9 p.m.
