MICHAEL Jackson’s tele vised memorial service on Tuesday pulled in over 31 million viewers across 18 networks, according to Nielsen.

That’s nearly four times as many viewers as tuned into Pope John Paul II’s funeral, which aired on seven networks in April 2005.

But it didn’t come close to President Obama’s inauguration, which averaged nearly 38 million viewers last January.

Officially, 31.1 million viewers watched the star-studded Jackson memorial service, which aired live (roughly 1-4 p.m.) from the Staples Center in LA.

By comparison, Ronald Reagan’s televised funeral drew 35 million viewers in 2004 — while Princess Diana’s funeral averaged 33 million viewers in 1997, according to Nielsen.

The Jackson memorial service also attracted a huge online audience.

MSNBC.com said it shattered its previous record with nearly 19 million video streams — while CNN.com had 10.5 million live streams, the second-largest live video streaming day in its history.
