Don’t expect to see Janet Jackson as a judge on “The X Factor” next season.
Jackson, whose name was bandied about — and who was coy about the rumors when asked last month by Anderson Cooper — now says she won’t be joining Simon Cowell’s Fox show.
Jackson told “The Insider” that she was “very flattered that ‘X Factor’ let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just won’t be possible.”
Jackson might have been considered for the show, but her rep says an offer to join was never tendered.
“There have been absolutely no meetings between Janet and anyone with regard to ‘X Factor,’ ” the rep told “The Insider.”
Cowell is looking to replace canned judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones.
All three were fired after the show ended its first season in December.
Of late, both Pink and Britney Spears’ names have surfaced as possible “X Factor” judges.
Cowell was also reportedly interested in hiring Whitney Houston before her untimely death.
