HIP-HOP heavyweight Jay-Z sold more than a half-million copies of “Blueprint 2: Gift & the Curse,” to smack bad-boy rapper Eminem – and his “8 Mile” soundtrack – out of the No. 1 spot on the Top Album Sales Charts, according to retail-tracker SoundScan.
The slimmed-down Missy Elliott’s “Under Construction,” boosted by the single “Work It,” debuted at No. 3.
Bubblegum pop star no more, Justin Timberlake’s “Justified” fell from No. 2 to No. 4. It’s not like the old days, when an *NSYNC album would sell more than 2 million copies in two weeks.
Pearl Jam’s “Riot Act” debuted at No. 5, while TLC’s “3D” hit the No. 6 slot its first week out.
Eminem’s “The Eminem Show,” at No. 9, sold another 114,980 copies to bring the total to 5.7 million copies.
