JAY-Z entered the race late but came out on top.

The rapper pushed up the release of his new album, “The Black Album,” to last Friday, but even with only three days of sales, he outsold Tupac Shakur’s “Resurrection.”

Still, it was a tight race among the rappers at the top: “The Black Album” sold 463,263 copies; “Resurrection” sold 430,219 copies; and G-Unit‘s “Beg for Mercy,” sold 376,941 copies, according to SoundScan.

And it looks like over-exposure is helping Britney Spears to the top.

The pop tart’s fourth album, “In the Zone,” out Tuesday, is on track to sell up to 600,000 copies, says HitsDailyDouble.com.
