JERRY’S TV RETURN
JERRY Seinfeld will film a concert in Oakland, Calif. as part of a documentary he’s producing on stand-up comedy.
Now, the big question: Where will the documentary air?
One possibility could be HBO, which aired Seinfeld’s “I’m Telling You for the Last Time” – his first stand-up comedy appearance after retiring “Seinfeld” in May 1998.
In that concert – taped in Manhattan – Seinfeld officially “retired” his old comedy material.
Seinfeld is scheduled to film his stand-up comedy performance at Oakland’s Paramount Theater on March 29.
There’s no word on who else might be included in the documentary.
Seinfeld has resisted returning to network television, while his “Seinfeld” co-stars – including Michael Richards and John O’Hurley, have had mixed results since “Seinfeld” went off the air.
“The Michael Richards Show” bombed on NBC earlier this season, but O’Hurley has had modest success as the host of an updated, syndicated version of “To Tell the Truth.”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) is planning to star in an upcoming sitcom produced by her husband, Brad Hall, while Jason Alexander (George) recently guest-starred on an episode of “Friends” and has several TV projects in the works.
