JOE Isuzu, the smarmy, lying car pitchman of the ’80s, is making a comeback.

Actor David Leisure is returning as the fibbing Isuzu shill in a series of commercials for American Isuzu Motors, according to Advertising Age.

Leisure, who went on to star in NBC’s “Empty Nest,” originated the role of Joe Isuzu in 1986 and became an instant pop-culture icon by touting Isuzu’s “top speed of 300 mph” and pricetag of “$9.”

Isuzu used the ad campaign for four years before yanking good old Joe off the air in 1990.
