‘KISS Me, Kate” keeps racking up prizes. The popular Broadway show swept the Drama Desk Awards last night, earning six, including outstanding revival of a musical.

“Kate” star Brian Stokes Mitchell was named outstanding actor in a musical, and Michael Blakemore won for his direction of the show.

The sweep gives “Kiss Me, Kate” momentum going into the Tonys next month, when the show will square off against “The Music Man” for Best Revival.

Blakemore picked up a second Drama Desk award for his direction of “Copenhagen,” Michael Frayn’s play about a famous meeting between Neils Bohr and Werner Heisenberg.

“Copenhagen” was named outstanding new play.

The award for outstanding new musical went to “Contact,” while Susan Stroman won for her choreography of the dance show.

Karen Ziemba, who plays an abused housewife in “Contact,” was named outstanding featured actress in a musical.

The award for outstanding revival of a play went to “The Real Thing.”

Stephen Dillane, the star of “The Real Thing,” was voted outstanding actor in a play.

Eileen Heckart was named outstanding actress in a play for her acclaimed portrayal of an Alzheimer’s sufferer in “The Waverly Gallery.”

“Aida” star Heather Headley picked up the prize for outstanding actress in a musical.

Barry Humphries received the award for outstanding solo performance as Dame Edna in “Dame Edna – The Royal Tour.”

The Drama Desk is made up of reporters, critics and editors who regularly cover New York theater.

The awards do not have the box office clout of the Tonys, but they sometimes indicate who will win on Tony night.
