Katie Couric’s final turn at the anchor desk of the CBS “Evening News” will be Thursday, May 19, according to a new report.

The media blog TVNewser said that Couric is scheduled to make the announcement during Friday night’s broadcast. Her executive producer, Rick Kaplan’s final broadcast was Thursday.

CBS has named Scott Pelley to fill Couric’s seat at the anchor desk. Couric, meanwhile, is reportedly in talks with ABC for a syndicated daytime talk show.

Couric’s contract with CBS runs until June 4, TVNewser said.
