DECISION time for the future of Katie Couric’s career is now, according to CBS sources, but NBC brass says it’ll happen later.

“There’s a tremendous amount of speculation out there, and most of it is uninformed,” Couric’s pal, NBC boss Jeff Zucker, told “Access Hollywood.” “Katie will decide what she wants to do in a couple of months. There’s nothing imminent.”

But CBS news boss Sean McManus reportedly told pals earlier this week that Couric will decide any day if she wants to take over Dan Rather’s old job on “CBS Evening News.”

Industry buzz has Couric leaning toward making her decision closer to next spring, when her $60 million deal with NBC expires.
