Kevin Bacon is on the griddle for his first starring TV series role.

The veteran actor will star as an FBI profiler dealing with a cult of serial killers in Kevin Williamson’s (“Vampire Diaries”) upcoming Fox drama, according to deadline.com.

Bacon has committed to star in 15 episodes, rather than the usual 22, so he can spend more time with his family (including wife Kyra Sedwick, star of “The Closer”), according to the report.

The as-yet-untitled drama will be produced by Warner Bros. TV.

In addition to “Vampire Diaries,” Williamson is best known for creating “Dawson’s Creek” and the big-screen “Scream” thriller franchise.

He’s also an executive producer on The WB’s “Secret Circle.”

Bacon starred in the HBO movie “T
aking Chance,” for which he was nominated for an Emmy, but has generally avoided TV.

Sedwick has starred for seven seasons in TNT’s highly rated “The Closer.”
