THE final shoe in CBS’ Memogate scandal has dropped.

Josh Howard, the executive producer of “60 Minutes Wednesday” – who oversaw the Sept. 8 telecast that questioned President Bush’s military service – has resigned.

Howard was the last of three top CBS News executives to quit, ending the possibility of a wrongful termination lawsuit, which had been looming since top CBS brass asked for Howard’s resignation last January.

CBS and Howard declined to comment on the terms of their settlement.
