LATE night TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will help launch this summer’s Lollapalooza tour starting tonight with his guest co-host, alternative rock pioneer Perry Farrell.

The legendary music festival which Farrell, the front-man for “Jane’s Addiction,” co-founded in 1991 is finally returning after a five-year hiatus.

Four of the more than twenty acts appearing this summer will play on “Kimmel” this week.

It is unsual for the home-grown rock show to take to network TV since the music the festival showcases is popular, but often too rough for traditional TV.

Farrell’s “got a lot of ideas for the show, some good ones and some crazy ones,” Kimmel told The Post.

“He’s got something going on with a bunch of girls that he wants to escort him out every night, certain songs he wants – I don’t know that we’ve ever had a co-host come in with more ideas than Perry has.”

The bands perfoming each night include The Donnas on Monday, Kings of Leon on Tuesday, Rooney on Wednesday and Jane’s Addiction on Friday.
