BELIEVE it or not, this is the new cast of “Law & Order.”

They look like British lawyers because they are. This is a scene from the new “Law & Order/UK,” an all-British version of the venerable legal drama.

The American version of “L&O” has been a staple on Brit TV for years. And the success of the gritty New York version finally pushed London’s ITV to create a version of its own that premiered this week. This English version is using scripts borrowed from NBC’s original (reworked to incorporate British lingo and police procedure).

While it uses a new theme song, it does retain one of the original’s signature calling cards – the “dunk-dunk” sound effect when cutting to different scenes.
