A straight-arrow New Mexico prosecutor (Dermot Mulroney) heads south of the border to buy a new set of lungs for his dying daughter in “Inhale” — and he’s shocked, shocked to discover where they actually come from.

The audience won’t be surprised at all. That’s only the beginning of the problems with this lurid thriller, which milks the very real problem of “organ tourism” for all the melodrama and car chases it’s worth.

Icelandic director Baltasar Kormakur (“101 Reykjavik”) presents an unconvincingly hellish image of a Juarez populated by corrupt cops, homicidal doctors, tranny prostitutes and street urchins who can provide anything for a price.

Among the talented actors wasting their time are Diane Kruger as Mulroney’s distraught wife, Rosanna Arquette as their daughter’s ethically challenged doctor, Sam Shepard as a governor with an unbelievable secret — and Vincent Perez and Jordi Molla as the main Mexican bad guys.
