LEN Cannon is out at Ch. 5, upset by the station’s plans to replace him with Ernie Anastos.

“It is evident that the station has chosen to go in a different direction,” Cannon said in a statement. “Therefore, I am currently pursuing other opportunities and hope to announce my future plans shortly.”

Cannon had co-anchored Ch. 5’s 10 p.m. newscast with Rosanna Scotto since 2002.

“Len has been an outstanding professional and excellent leader during his tenure at Fox 5,” said station VP/GM Jim Clayton.

Cannon had been off the air since word leaked out about Anastos.
