HUGH Laurie says that having to play the lead character in “House” with a severe limp is giving him real-life trouble.

Laurie says that faking Dr. Gregory House’s signature limp for the past five years is starting to give him a real limp.

“The show might last through to series seven, eight or nine but I don’t know if I will because I’m starting to lose my knees,” Laurie said before last night’s Emmys.

“It’s a lot of hip work. There are things going badly wrong,” he told reporters.

He has been trying to keep himself limber. “I need to do yoga,” he says.

In the series, House walks with a cane because of a gunshot wound.
