A latest spinoff of “Law & Order” will be set in LA.
NBC programming chief Angela Bromstad tells The Post her network and creator Dick Wolf are having “very fluid” conversations about the project and currently deciding on writers.
It would be the first time the “L&O” franchise would be set outside New York.
“Even if, for instance, ‘Law & Order’ the mothership, didn’t go beyond another couple of years, that way of telling stories is so unique that I actually think it could work in Los Angeles with a new look and a new cast,” she said.
“Also, there is not, other than ‘Southland,’ a great LA-based cop show.”
The Peacock network has a lot of programming hours to fill after bouncing “The Jay Leno Show” from its nightly 10 p.m. slot.
Already in the works:
* “Undercovers”: a drama from J.J. Abrams about a husband and wife team of CIA agents.
* “The Rockford Files“: a reimagined version of the hit 1970s detective show, executive produced by Steve Carell (“The Office“)
* “Chase”: Jerry Bruckheimer’s newest procedural drama about a group of US Marshalls tracking down the nations most notorious criminals.
* “Kindreds”: A new law-office drama from David E. Kelley (“Boston Legal“, “The Practice“).
