‘L&O’S’ SCHIAVO CASE
THE controversial life-and-death case of Terri Schiavo has finally been dramatized – on this week’s edition of “Law & Order.”
In the episode, a man whose wife is in a vegetative state is killed by a car bomb the day her feeding tube is slated to be removed. Some people protesting the impending death are also injured.
In real life, Schiavo, 41, had been in what doctors call a “persistent vegetative state.” Until her death, Schiavo’s parents and husband fought over whether to take away her feeding tube, which was eventually removed. She died a few weeks later.
