MAD, HOT BALLROOM
KELLY Monaco is still smarting over charges that she won last summer’s smash-hit “Dancing with the Stars” because of favoritism.
“There is controversy over [the fact that] I’m an ABC employee and some person said that it was unfair that I had votes or an audience or something,” Monaco said on yesterday’s “Tony Danza Show.”
“I really don’t know what happened,” she said. “But foul play was called and ‘it was rigged’ and this and that and whatever.”
The “General Hospital” star beat John O’Hurley last July in ABC’s ballroom dancing competition – spurring talk she won because of the “soap-fan vote.”
ABC will air a 90-minute live “dance-off” between Monaco and O’Hurley next Tuesday, with a results show airing Thursday.
