Téa Leoni and her new series, “Madam Secretary,” got off to a solid start Sunday night.

The CBS show, in which Leoni stars as a Hillary Clinton-type Secretary of State, averaged 14.7 million viewers from 9 to 10 p.m. — and was helped, in part, by its lead-ins — NFL football and “60 Minutes” (over 18 million viewers).

“Madam Secretary” marks Leoni’s first series role since ABC’s “The Naked Truth,” which ended its run  in 1998.
