‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” has earned a full season — with ABC ordering an additional nine episodes of the new action drama.

“S.H.I.E.L.D.” premiered to a strong 12.1 million viewers Sept. 24, and though it declined to 8.7 million in its second outing, it held relatively even in week three — averaging 7.9 million viewers Tuesday night at 8.

Co-created by Joss Whedon (“The Avengers”), it’s Marvel’s first series and stars Clark Gregg reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson from the Marvel films.
