Sergio Mendes’ Brasil 2005 heats up the Blue Note (131 W. Third St.; [212] 475-8592) for a six-night stand Tuesday through Nov. 27. Mendes, now 64, moved to New York more than 40 years ago. His band, Brasil ’66, found the love of American audiences with its smash hit “Mas que Nada,” a melodic pop treat mixed with jazz and bossa nova beats. Nearly two decades later, the band, on a comeback, scored the hit “Never Gonna Let You Go.” Mendes continues to pick up influences as he performs around the world: When he toured with Brasil 2004, he whipped in some Bahian hip-hop, a mix of Afro-Brazilian percussion with reggae beats. There are sets at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 to $45.
